The Mansion of Crossroads

"Glad to hear you boys are on board, I guess. MIST Agent, Aya Brea." The evolved being leaned against the wall, keeping herself entertained with this conversation might be nice. May also be something on TV.

Leon leaned forward on the couch, resting his elbows on his knees, "On board for what exactly?"

He'd never heard of MIST before, which would imply she too was from some alternate universe like him though her abilities compared to himself was an unknown he'd like to figure out without getting a taste of them firsthand.

Hurrst murmured something under his breath as he flipped open his phone to once more be bombarded with text messages from his ex, Agent Hunter, Agent Malone and a few randoms from his kids begging for money. He really needed to get a new circle.

Andrew thumbed at Leon as the man voiced his own question. "Yeah, do you know more than us? We've been locked up for at least a week... probably my fault, but still."

"No. I highly doubt the government would let us even see the light of day, if they didn't have a use for us. The American government has a tendency of being manipulative as heck. Mostly politicians, doing non sensual things just for more power. So long as there are two people on the Earth, I've learned two things; one person will want to control the other. Or, one person will want to kill the other." Aya keep her back to the wall, enjoying her little chat a little. She kept a tiny grin on her face, but on the inside, she was exasperated

"I've broken out of Government Prison before, I'm sure I could do it again. I just prefer a more diplomatic solution when dealing with semi-friendlies." Andrew shrugged, leaning back on the couch and mimicking Aya's smile, mocking her in a friendly way.

"In my line of business, there's no humans involved. So I generally just shoot them in the face. It works wonders, wouldn't you know?" She didn't bother to mention such personal things as her times with Ark, or anything along those lines. She tried not to brag about her achievements, as they always gave her survivors guilt for some unknown reason.

Andrew shrugged, leaning forward while flipping through his Pip-Boy, eventually stopping at a list of data. "I've killed 1,458 men. And I've killed 2,031 things of non-human origin." Andrew said sullenly, as he leaned back. he'd recorded every kill he'd ever made, be it man, Super Mutant, or a wild dog. "But I'd rather not talk about such things, where are you from?" The Lone Wanderer asked Aya, peaking up from his slightly depressed mood in a few seconds.

"Well, I look human, for one. But getting past the snarker part, I was born in Boston, Massachusetts. I went to college at the University of Virginia. Do you need much else? I lived in New York City a while back, but left after a few incidents. Moved to California after that, and worked for MIST for a time. After that, I moved back to NYC, for a few reasons." Aya put her foot on the wall to support herself, as she began to get slightly more annoyed at no one getting back with food.

"Heh, well I look human too, although I may not be entirely... I was born in a post-apocolyptic Washington D.C., and grew up in a Fallout Shelter. My father went missing, I followed him. A fucked up simulation I got stuck in transmitted the faux memories of a Marine with ten years of experience against the Chinese in the Sino-American war. Long story short: Dad is dead, I saved the wasteland, destroyed what was left of the United States Government, and now I'm some sort of messiah for the hopeless people of the Capital Wasteland. I'm no god, but it gives them hope... so I'm not going to tell them otherwise." Andrew replied, then noticed Aya's annoyance at the lack of food.

"Sorry, but all I've got is a 200 year old MRE you're free to have." Andrew replied, leaning back.

"Interesting. I don't like MREs. They get old after a while, and to be honest, I'd like something hot to eat. And I just passed up a chance to make a pun about the age of your MRE, in correlation to how MREs get old for me. Oh well, it's too late now. Once you explain a joke, it's ruined." Aya looked at Leon, and the sleeping kid. She always had a soft spot for kids.

Andrew followed Aya's gaze to the sleeping teenager, while the Lone Wanderer was technically only a few years older, his advanced memories and experience made him feel much older. "I love kids, helped them as much as I could back in the Wasteland..." Andrew mumbled, barely loud enough for Aya to hear.

"I suppose that's a good enough thing. I've never had children myself. Only my little sister, Eve." Aya turned back from the kid, and looked at the growing darkness. She could still see fairly well outside, however. Her abilities saw to that.

"I never had a sister, only my Dad. And, well... he uh, passed away." Andrew shrugged, looking away while sitting up and leaning against the back of the couch, instead of the arm.

"You ever wanted children?"

"Not really. I took care of my little sister like she was my daughter. And being that I was getting engaged, but that ended on my wedding day." Aya showed a small gold ring on her finger to Andrew, as she watched the woods outside. Watched intently.

"Oh, I'm sorry to hear that... the rings pretty." Andrew replied, looking at the ring. "I've only had a few serious relationships... not really many friends, either. Guess that's why they call me the 'Lone Wanderer'."

The Knight noticed Aya's intense stare, before standing up to look out the window, reaching towards his hip for a N99 that wasn't there. "What do you see?"

"Nothing. Just a feeling. So, what's your opinion on the world as a whole?"

Andrew sat back down with a strained sigh, feeling the joint pains he'd got from combat and difficult movement through the rubble of the Wasteland. "Better than the one I came from, that place... let's just say that the average person here doesn't go through the pain in a lifetime that an average person there goes through in a day."

"Earth will always be Earth. Just a rock, the third one from the sun." Aya looked at the LW, amused at the talk. Someone competent enough so that she didn't have to worry. At least someone knew how to shoot a gun damned well.

"Yeah, that's a real positive outlook," Leon mused to himself, having followed the conversation silently thus far.

"Any outlook is better than not having one, because you'd be dead, right? Hope for the best. But expect the worse." Aya Brea looked at the twilight of the sky, and then remembered the name "Twilight" and that god awful book. She sort of prayed she would run in with that fag vampire Edward; she could see if guns could destroy granite....given, they could do that easy. But she wanted to see what happened when a .50 round went into his ugly face.

"Some fates for this planet is worse than destruction... I can guarantee you, any Wastelander you speak to would've prefered to have not been born than to live through what is out there..." Andrew twisted so Aya could have room on the couch. "Hell, I know I would."

"I suppose radiation is adverse to people being eaten alive." Aya sat down in the couch, next to Andrew, looking towards Leon. That kid was fast asleep, the beastiality porn no one seemed to have noticed finally had went off, and it was getting dark. Hell, she was about to grab a gun and start kicking ass and spewing one liners as she hunted down whatever had stalled those people. Then again, nothing much from this world could stop them. Well, without them hearing a gigantic battle going on. They'd need heavy firepower, whoever would attack them.

Andrew leaned forward, and began to fiddle with his Pip-Boy, after a few seconds he pressed a button, and suddenly a voice eminated from the small machine.

"...Do you know what goes on out there in the Strip Mall time forgot? Wake up children... it's a goddamn slaver compound. They. Sell. People."

The Lone Wanderer cut it off at that moment, letting his arm rest. "He was talking of Paradise Falls. I personally killed every man and woman with a weapon in that place."

"Really? If that's a slaver place, and if your saying that you killed every man woman and child, that means you killed the slaves also? Because then I'd have to call you a sick fuck." Aya corssed her arms, starting to get angry at this kid. Sure, he could talk about killing people. But something made her feel like he was bragging about massecering so many people, or something.

Andrew looked at the ground, obviously troubled. But it was also obvious it wasn't from Aya's outburst. "I've never killed a kid, and I only killed the Slavers. As I said, I only killed the people with weapons. Even then, it wasn't a good thing. If I went back, I'd do it exactly the same. My concious isn't worth the suffering those people would've had to go through if I hadn't wiped out Paradise Falls." He responded, his voice hoarse.
